In short
Yum does not use advertising cookies. It stores a few items in your browser so the site works the way you set it up. Measurement cookies are used only if you allow them.
Essential storage (always on)
yum_s: a secure, HttpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in if you have an account. Kept 60 days or until you sign out. Without it you could not stay signed in.
yum.lang: the language you chose. Kept until you change it.
yum.consent: your choice in the cookie banner. Kept 12 months.
yum.prefs: servings, metric or US units and other display preferences. Kept until you clear it.
yum.checked.*: the ingredients you ticked on a recipe. Kept until you clear it.
yum.chat: your current conversation with Yum, stored only in your browser. Deleted with "New chat".
These items are stored with your browser's local storage, are never sent to advertisers and are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they do not need consent.
yum.install.off: remembers that you declined the app install prompt.
yum.fridge, yum.calc and yum.plan: the ingredients you selected, your calorie calculator values and your meal planner preview, kept only in your browser.
Measurement (only with consent)
_ga and _ga_*: Google Analytics 4 cookies that distinguish visits anonymously. Kept up to 14 months. Set only after you click "Allow measurement".
Change your choice
Open "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to change your choice. You can also delete everything from your browser's settings (site data for yum.purceas.com).
